Situation

When I joined AT&T, I was recognized as a subject-matter expert in Lifecycle Dashboards and entrusted with leading the redesign of the Cloud Management Platform, along with developing a strategic plan for an API Product Portal. My mission was to drive innovation and elevate these platforms to better serve both current and prospective customers.

Task

My responsibilities included reimagining the Cloud Management Platform and crafting a cohesive strategy and design for an API Product Portal. This required redefining APIs as digital products and collaborating with departments like Marketing and Network Infrastructure to create a seamless, unified user experience. Another critical aspect of my role was improving the usability of the Cloud Management portal and integrating it with major cloud services such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.

Action

To achieve these goals, I led the ideation process, promoting the concept of APIs as digital products and fostering collaboration among a diverse team of experts. I worked closely with Subject Matter Experts to redesign the Cloud Management portal, improving its user experience and cloud compatibility. My leadership ensured a consistent, intuitive interface by driving user research, brainstorming innovative solutions, designing wireframes, and building a comprehensive design library. This cohesive approach helped align all stakeholders with the project’s vision.

Result

The API portal is still under development, but its clear vision shows significant promise. The revamped Cloud Management Platform has already achieved remarkable success, including a network decommissioning initiative that saved $300 million and reduced the project timeline by six months. This milestone highlights the impact of strategic foresight and collaborative leadership in transforming technological platforms, a testament to the team’s expertise and collective effort.
