Sympathy
A poem by Micah Boswell · grief · memoir
Sympathy shatters me for some reason I can’t receive it And if I let it in, I can’t stop weeping The tears roll slowly And I hate myself for being so weak
I don’t feel like I deserve good things Unless I’ve suffered for them Unless there’s been a price I’ve paid
I think I’m getting better at this After years of inner work
I built an AI podcast last week The AI voices - I trained them to discuss My memoir. The female voice used a deeply sympathetic tone To a random part of my story.
A sat in the car, quietly weeping with gratitude At a sympathetic voice I could accept.
